Book! Book! Book!

Our Book Fair, one of the largest in regional centres, is held each May. The Book Fair next year will be held on Saturday 2nd of May 2020 8am-5pm  and Sunday 3rd of May 2020 9am-3pm.

The 2019 Book Fair has been very successful, with good crowds of buyers and an excellent level of sales, which will fund our community activities through the year. Total Book Fair takings since inception now exceed $500,000.This year we put out around 50,000 books, as well as CD's, DVD's, sheet music etc., attracting a crowd of over 2000 from Wagga Wagga and the surrounding area, together with some book sellers, collectors, enthusiasts and visitors from more distant parts, and often drawing plaudits for the stock quality and layout .The "Fill a Bag for $50" offer continued to be popular.

Our Supporters We have great support from many sectors of the local community in staging the Fair.  Transport of the huge stock is provided by Ron Crouch Transport and Nash Bros Builders; while bags for issue to patrons, printed with our signage, come courtesy of local firm Bee Dee Bags   We have great support from the local media in promoting the Fair. and we are assisted. In staging the event by other local service clubs, students from  Mt. Austin High School Clontarf Foundation Program, as well as many partners and friends of Rotarians.

“From the Community - to the Community” Throughout the year the community donates the stock; volunteers join the Rotarians in preparation and staging of the Fair; community members buy the material at our sale; and the funds we raise benefit the community through our Rotary activities. - the club supports a number of local organizations, participates in programs relating to homelessness & youth development, as well as programs overseas enhancing sight and education. The project also effectively recycles a large quantity of material, and encourages reading and literacy within the community. What a great cycle!

If you have saleable  books you would like to donate, a local business - Elders in Kincaid Street - kindly acts as a drop-off point .(See details below). If you cannot get to this location, or have a very large quantity, please contact us here and we will organise for a Rotarian to pick it up from you (within the Wagga City area). Thank you for your support - see you at the Fair.
